Step Into Prep Program is back again for 2027 Foundation students!
At Wantirna Primary School, we ensure our Foundation (Prep) students have a positive and confident start to their school journey. Our comprehensive Transition Program helps children become familiar with school routines, expectations, and their new learning environment.
Our transition program consists of four classroom sessions designed to help students feel comfortable and prepared for their first year.
A special highlight of the program is meeting their Senior Buddy, who provides additional support and friendship as they settle into school life.
At Wantirna Primary School, we understand that transitioning from kindergarten to school is a significant milestone for young children. We believe that building confidence in a school setting is essential for a positive and successful start to their educational journey.
To support this transition, we are offering Step Into Prep sessions These sessions provide children with the opportunity to experience school life, meet our teachers and future classmates, and help parents make informed decisions about their child’s schooling.
Please note: Your child does not need to be enrolled at Wantirna Primary School to attend the Step Into Prep program. This free program is open to all four-year-old kindergarten children in the community.

Session 1 - Thursday 26th March
Session 2 - Thursday 30th April
Session 3 - Thursday 21st May
Session 4 - Thursday 18th June
The Step Into Prep program takes place in our Foundation classroom at Wantirna Primary School.
During the sessions, children will have the opportunity to explore different areas of the school while engaging in fun and interactive activities. Drop-off and pick-up will be from our front office, located on Mountain Highway. Parents are welcome to stay, connect with other families, and learn more about our school community, accompany their child or they may return at the end of the session to collect their child.
