At Wantirna Primary School, we work with professional Teaching Artists to give students exciting opportunities to explore the arts, develop their creativity, and express themselves with confidence. Through music, drama, and dance, students build important skills like creative thinking, teamwork, and appreciation for different cultures.

Every week, our students enjoy music lessons through Song Room, where they explore creativity through song, rhythm, and performance. It's amazing to see how music helps kids connect with learning, build confidence, and develop resilience.

Once a year, we run an intensive Performing Arts unit where students dive deeper into drama, dance, and stage performance. Students learn to:

Discover and develop their creative talents
Express themselves with confidence
Think creatively and work as a team
Appreciate different cultures and perspectives

A Proud Moment

Our partnership with Song Room has brought incredible opportunities, including a memorable performance at a JB Hi-Fi conference where our students performed in front of over 900 people!

Here's what one the organisers said:

Sarah  - Philanthropy and Partnerships Executive from the Song Room said -

“I wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to you and all your students for the incredible performance yesterday at the JB Hi-Fi Conference. Their energy radiated on stage and it was the perfect showcase of all their hard work, and a shining example of the confidence and joy music education brings. Thank you again Amanda and Tyson for bringing it all together. Performing in front of an audience of 900+ is an amazing achievement, so brave, and your students should be very proud of themselves. We were told that the students’ performance was the most engaged the JB team was the whole day, and they loved getting behind it!  From the side lines I could see the audience clapping, singing along and having FUN”.

Alice - Chief Executive Officer said - “What an amazing group of children and what a team you all are together. Amanda, thanks for your engagement and support. Tyson - what can I say, you have done an incredible job! The performance was brilliant. Word is that you guys got a bigger applause than The Living End!”
